Isaac, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My love for music started at the age of 4 when my family purchased a bongo from Spain. I grew up in Poland till the age of 8 and my family and I moved to Chicago to spread to the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Polish community here in Chicago.
I have played drums for 20 years give or take a few phases in life. But I chose to turn against the pursuit of music, I chose sports and excelled in High School Athletics. Once I graduated I fell deeply in love with, who is now my wife, Klaudia. Finding love at such a young age has allowed me to move past the search and focus on who I am working to be. Asking myself “How do I become the best possible man I can be for my wife, family, friends, community, everyone?”
I lost my zeal for sports and I found myself never having an outlet to pour energy, passion, and zeal into. And then I went to my first rave. The music that changed my life was EDM. I was deeply influenced by the likes of Kaskade, Skrillex, Tiesto, and the list goes on and on.
And as I dove headfirst into the rave culture I soon realized that this never ends. That raves will always be around, and the drugs never end, and the people stay the same, and you will be sucked in because it truly is amazing. But it’s a hard lifestyle. Slowly weaning off the festival’s and usual show attendance, I began to play MY FAVORITE tracks and realized I could create a great experience for people.
I began to learn Djing because my friends started. And I downloaded a DJ app and within weeks I was able to understand what seemed to be a complicated machine, turned out to be an amazing instrument. I have a very hard time not committing 100% to what I do. So naturally, I jumped in, spent loads of money because I had a new dream. Then it hit me. All successful DJs create their own music.
So my best friend, Brian Taraszka, invested into a Maschine Mk2 in fall of 2016 and that changed my life. God has never failed to provide everything I need in the desires he gives me. Within the last two years, dedicating a couple hundred hours in our home studio, we have come to this exact point today. Having over 25 projects planned for release within the next 6 months.
So this is a story of just putting in time and believing what you’re doing is right and made for you.
Alongside production, djing, and drumming; I have been blessed with the love for words. Poetry and public speaking has always been something that has tugged on my heart. I love to talk and listen and simply exchange with other human beings. Whether through music, art, speech, relationship, love, written words; I really believe we have the ability to bring light into this dark world. But it is a choice, a daily choice, to be who we are created to be.
And I hope to live that out.
So I cannot box myself into just one category of artistry, because we are made with many talents and I hope to encourage those around that it’s okay to express. It’s okay to pursue your dreams even though society does not build you up to do so.
So as I write music, learn to sing better, create more poetry, start to live this dream, I hope seeing the struggle only encourages everyone around. Life is hard. That’s why we need to spend EVERY WAKING MOMENT taking steps forward. So You can start the day tomorrow knowing that you are. ONE DAY CLOSER
I have found drive and purpose in the truth that has been preached for thousands of years of a Messiah. A man who would pay the price for me to have the honor of being in God’s presence on a daily basis. And somehow I know that understanding the depth of Gods love for us is the most powerful thing I can share with another person.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t believe any road is smooth, I think we just learn that we need thicker tires, better suspension, and more durable shell to protect us from what is coming out the way. I have learned that I need to be patient. I’ve jumped the gun all my life and I learned that with life, you need to be patient.
I learned that if you don’t know who you are, your art will not be a reflection of you but a reflection of those around you. In turn never truly creating anything original, different. Once I found my identity, everything in my life changed. Separating yourself from poisonous environments and people is huge.
How can you expect to grow in your own strength? Without any help? We need strength and you won’t find that in people who aren’t exercising their right to live valiantly. Don’t take advice on dreams and goals from people who are not obviously doing what they love.
I’ve found that time is the easiest to waste, in turn delaying YOUR OWN DREAMS. But we are all guilty of it. So make sure that each day, you are a step, leap, dive closer to your vision. Ensuring that you are ONE DAY CLOSER
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Isaac Wheadon – what should we know?
I create and write music, play drums, perform poetry, DJ, live midi finger drumming, as well as speak to audiences. I specialize in working toward a life worth living. That, in turn, affects every single aspect of my life, so my hope is to simply motivate and empower people to live. Genuinely live their life.
I am proud of the visible proof that hard work offers and this year you will be exposed to it all.
I am set apart because I am not motivated by money, sex appeal, fame, material ownership. In turn, choosing to live for the good of our kind, for our future generations, for our kid’s kids, to know they too need to live.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Discipline. Hands down. I’ll keep it short on this one.
