Today we’d like to introduce you to Idania Santiago.
Idania, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was always creative! I was an art major and graduated with a hotel management degree. I was married, had a baby girl and wanted a more stable life. Decided to get a cosmetology license and began my hair design career. I later divorced and became a single mom. I wanted only the best for my daughter, like most mothers. I believe this was the beginning of my vision for my children’s salon wouldn’t it be nice…to have a place where parents could bring their kids for haircuts and actually enjoy the experience! A place full of royal treatment from the beautiful & happy surroundings to the outstanding customer service for the little ones…
I believe I accomplished that! We work by appointment but when we are available we gladly take walk-ins…I emphasize that if a child is not comfortable we should By all means try and reschedule the appointment I would rather reschedule then to have a child be terrified at the thought of visiting us again. Children deserve to be treated with respect and warmth that is what we deliver a good service and a great experience.
Has it been a smooth road?
Not always I was patient. I was on hold paying rent for about four months because of zoning issues. Then I waited for the right employees and one by one things fell into place. But in my heart I knew this would work because all my heart was in the making and I believe that if you have passion and what do you do you can’t go wrong. I also believe that with God all things are possible.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Rock hair scissors story. Tell us more about the business.
We cater to children only. We offer ultimate customer service for kids. What I am most proud of is the respect we have acquired from our clientele it means the world to me because this is my goal our priority is to have happy kids and satisfied parents because of the service and the comfort we offer their children.
What sets us apart is that I truly want our clients to be satisfied with the service we give them and to enjoy the experience!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I would love for my business to grow. Possibly expand to other nearby towns or cities.
I’ll be working on raising money to promote Rock hair reach out program which is meant to reach families that otherwise would not be able to have such an experience for their children.
I’d love it if you took a moment to check out my GoFundMe campaign:
