Today we’d like to introduce you to Glen Bloodsaw Jr.
Glen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
During my time as a Division 1 athlete, I was diagnosed with spondylosis, which describes types of degeneration in the spine. In my case, the degeneration happened in a disc and a chipped transverse. The condition was so severe, at one point I experienced the loss of my right leg. The time spent learning how to attack this condition head-on, developed into a passion for helping others achieve the same level of physical autonomy that I’ve achieved.
Has it been a smooth road?
By no means has this been a smooth journey. I had to first learn which moves performed in everyday life were detrimental to my condition. At the onset of my condition, I was informed that fitness or surgery were the only options for pain relief, I chose fitness.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Strength Therapy story. Tell us more about the business.
Strength Therapy is a fitness company the emphasizes physical autonomy. Physical autonomy is achieved through creating body awareness and developing functional movement patterns. I am proud of the fact that participants walk away with a better understanding of spatial awareness and functional movement patterns. These new skills allow for more results-based exercise. What sets Strength Therapy apart from other fitness companies is our understanding of functional and targeted training.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Strength Therapy has plans to expand to and make our method of training available to everyone. It’s obvious that the sedentary lifestyles that many leads has taken a toll on our society. Strength Therapy strives to push back with a healthy alternative.
