Periodontal Medicine & Surgical Specialists, LTD – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Brian Shah has decided to return to Chicago and join Periodontal Medicine & Surgical Specialists on a full time basis. As you may recall, we partnered a year ago and assumed his Lincoln Park practice while he served as Chairman of Orthognathic Surgery and Director of Research at Yale New Haven Hospital (New Haven, CT). This past year of academia allowed Dr. Shah to further sharpen his skill set in orthognathic surgery and teach the residents in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Yale. However, to our good fortune, he has decided to make Chicago his permanent home. We are both committed to personalized care & have come together to offer a wide range of services for your patients by creating a specialized surgical practice like none other in the Chicagoland area.
Brian Shah, MD, DDS, will be available to see patients starting June 1, 2017. He will perform procedures in all three of our office locations. Dr. Shah will be on the medical staff at Lutheran General Hospital (Park Ridge) with admitting privileges. Orthognathic surgery cases will be performed at Lutheran General as well as in our AAAHC office-based surgery center in Oakbrook Terrace (if appropriate).
Dr. Shah graduated summa cum laude from Miami University (Miami, OH), with a B.A. degree in Microbiology. He then attended The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry, and graduating salutatorian (#2) of his class. After dental school, he trained at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, receiving a M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. While his pedigree is impressive, it is his humble disposition, infectious personality, and passion for improving the quality of lives for those around him that make him truly unique. His restoratively-centered OMFS thinking is unlike any oral surgeon you have worked with. His passion is orthognathic surgery and he has expertise is in this aspect of OMFS.
By partnering with Dr Shah, we are continuing our tradition of interdisciplinary excellence and personalized care. It is our hope to create a truly unique surgical environment that allows the highest level of interdisciplinary collaboration and patient safety to exist for the unique needs of your patients.
