Meet Fabio Aiello in Hanover Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabio Aiello.

Fabio Aiello, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began striving to become a professional soccer player for the last 18 years. It was my pure passion and was literally on my mind 24/7, whether it was training, playing, watching, studying or coaching. It was what I wanted to do with my life. I had a fantastic career and was blessed with a full scholarship to Holy Cross College in Notre Dame, Indiana. After some medical complications, I was left with no choice but to hang up the cleats and try to find something else to fill what felt like an incredibly huge void.

After a few months of trying to digest walking away from the sport that was considered my life, I picked up a camera for the very first time and something about it just felt so right. I began watching travel and EDM videos on youtube thinking to myself… wow, this must be the next chapter in my journey.

From then on, I 5-6 hours every night for the next 9 months watching videos on youtube on how to edit videos, photos, and how to use DSLR’s. Which I jokingly refer to as “YouTube University.”

I finally hit up one of my closest friends that is one of the rising stars in the Chicagoland area (Sam Lobosco) for some help with booking my very first show.

Little did I know, he came back with helping me book one of the biggest EDM DJ’s in the world — 3Lau!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part with my continuous growth of knowledge and passion for video and photo it has been a pretty smooth road, obviously, it’s a struggle starting out and trying to get booked for shows with not many videos to show.

After my first 3LAU show, I came across one of the biggest local DJ’s that Chicago has to offer “The Trap House” which was comprised of George Rizzio and Charles Brotinez. Where I would definitely not be where I am today without the knowledge, care, and the connections they provided me with.

Since becoming their regular videographer, I ended up filming for some of the biggest artists, companies, and festivals in the world, such as Spring Awakening, North Coast Music Festival, Mamby on the beach, Krewella, 3Lau, Nora En Pure, ATliens, and many more.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fabio Aiello – what should we know?
I am a Freelance Videographer, Photographer, Editor, and World Traveler. I specialize in creating extraordinary content that ultimately helps bring a more positive vibe to the world.

The one thing I’m most proud of being a freelance videographer is that I can show to the world the imagination and creativity of what goes on through my mind through my videos and photos, and hopefully inspire people to go out and chase their dreams.

I believe what sets me apart from others is my thirst to learn more innovative ways to disrupt this incredible large industry and my ability to inspire people.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The list of people that deserve credit for my journey is incredibly long because I will never forget not one person who has helped pave my journey.

I’d have to say my biggest mentor would be Joey Ricely the CEO of Knockerball USA that continuously helps guide me in the direction that I need to be as with my parents Caterina and Salvatore Aiello who have provided me with everything I need to chase my dreams.
