Today we’d like to introduce you to Evonne Abou-Mourad.
Evonne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When my mom and aunt, the sisters, immigrated here from Lebanon they brought with them the traditions of their culture and developed their own waxing techniques and skin care remedies. They were fortunate to work at Marshall Field’s flagship store for many years before deciding to open our first location almost twenty years ago. I grew up working at the salon and saw how great of a business my mom and aunt had worked so hard for I followed into their footsteps. I was fortunate to grow up around such hard working women which in turn instilled a strong work ethic in me.
Has it been a smooth road?
We’ve been very fortunate in our almost twenty years of being open to have had family that were in the business and helped smooth the transition from working for a large company to running our own business.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with People know us as both Sisters Skin Care and Waxing as well as Sisters Salon – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a family run salon that specializes in all body waxing, facials, and massage. We are most known for our full Brazilian bikini waxes, especially since the sisters, Jeannette and Elaine, were the first to do that type of wax. We also do amazing brows from waxing to tinting! While many salons offer waxing we operate as a team every esthetician who works with us are trained equally. When walking into a treatment room you will feel as though you are in a doctor’s office, everything is bleached and sanitized our wax sticks are never double dipped that is unless we are using the whole jar on you. All of us here at Sisters are trained to be good, fast, thorough and efficient which makes for a great wax!

It gives us great pride and pleasure to work in a city that is so diverse and we have had the pleasure to work with some pretty amazing women and men. I absolutely love working in the city!
