So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had a love and passion in beautifying others. When a person feels good about their outer beauty, they carry themselves with a radiant confidence and have a glow.
I was started my career in beauty as an apprentice to an award-winning, celebrity hairstylist in Atlanta. I was also marketing my eyebrow services while studying Business Finance at Clark Atlanta University. I then proceeded to work on independent films as lead hairstylist/ makeup artist. After college, I moved back to Chicago and was working for MAC cosmetics as a freelance makeup artist.
I became interested in Eyelash Extensions about 3 years ago as this was the new wave of beauty and I wanted to become a part of the movement. I did my research on industry leaders and great quality work. I became certified and opened up shop.
Beauty is an ever-evolving field that does not stop growing. I became certified in Microblading/ Permanent makeup about 2 years ago. Today I am focused on teaching others to become certified in eyelash extensions and growing Renway Beauty to become a recognized leader in Beauty
Has it been a smooth road?
When learning a new skillset there will always be frustrations and bumps along the way. How one grows is how they are able to persevere through the tough times and have faith in themselves.
Starting a business takes a lot of work, especially if u start out as a 1 man Army. I learned to listen to others in my field about their challenges; and how not to repeat some mistakes.
