Today we’d like to introduce you to Eva Simon.
Eva, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, 16 years ago, I got my first film camera as a gift… I remember I used it on my first vacation in Paris… great memories, beautiful city.
Ten years ago in 2008, I got my first DLSR, I lived in Florida then… I loved going to the beach to photograph the sunset, the water, The Monarch Butterflies in September… and so on.
My friend gives birth next year and I started photographing her beautiful little girl. I always worked full time and I would take photos on my days off, anywhere and with anything. A few years later, I bought my Full Frame DLSR.
I also did my website alone in 2013. Since then, I photographed many beautiful kids, families, couples, and traveled to so many places. I truly love photography, it’s my passion I love creating memories, capturing moments for everyone. 90% the time, I try to use natural light, other times, when needed I use lights/flash as well. I learned so much during those years and I’m still learning every day.
For my business name, I picked “Simon Eva “Photography, in memory of my beloved mother, who I lost 17 years ago on Sept. 15th, due cancer.
Has it been a smooth road?
Teaching my self, took time and patience, and a full-time job, to be able to pay for my gear, online classes and so on.
Figuring out the business side of it, wasn’t easy… but long as you don’t give up, you learn every day and you get better every day.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Simon Eva Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
I started with kids, I still book a lot of portrait sessions, like Kids, Newborn, Families and I truly enjoy it. I also photograph engagements and weddings due to requests, and recommendations. Love it also.
It makes me proud when my clients love my work… it’s my passion and I truly love what I do.
My goal is to capture beautiful memories for a lifetime. How many time is your kid is seven days old or one year old, two years old, 16 years old? Capturing those moments is very important because time flies they grow so fast, and the only thing you will have left is the memories and the pictures to take you back.
For your wedding day, picking a good photographer, it’s very important, having great photos from your Wedding is more important than top shelf Tequila. 🙂 Investing in this it’s important…
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Well, people will always need a Photographer… using your phone camera is fun, but you can’t compare it with a high-quality canvas print on your wall or a beautiful album…
