Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Battersby and Elaine Perrecone.
Erin and Elaine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
7 years ago, we opened up a quiet therapeutic massage facility in downtown Roselle. We were looking for a place to grow as therapists and expand our clientele in a place with a small town feel. Our focus has always been about quality customer experiences and result driven therapies. The two of us and our two staff members take our education very seriously, as we are always learning new ways to work with our clients. Together we bring more than 80 years of hands-on experience to the (massage) table.
We truly strive to show our clients that massage can be so much more than just a relaxing rubdown. It can be a way to access and alleviate chronic pain patterns, aid in injury recovery, improve sleep, clearing of lymphatic blockages, relieving pressure on pinched nerves, managing migraines and energetic balancing, just to name a few. Each session is personally tailored to our client’s needs, giving them truly unique care for their specific requests and preferences, as well as, our non-cookie cutter approach to bodywork.
Erin says, “Continually learning and expanding my knowledge base keeps me excited about my work and brings true purpose to my touch. I’m looking forward to completing my Practitioner Certification with the Society of Ortho-Bionomy International, Inc. in the near future. Classes keep me fresh and truly deepen my understanding of the body. Giving me new opportunities/ways to influence patterns and implement change effectively for my clients.”
“I have been a fitness geek for as long as I can remember, participating in activities like running, cycling, swimming, weight training, yoga and most recently Pilates. Having many injuries along the way, my massage practice is ever-changing as I discover new ways to help the body prevent and recover from injury. I am in awe of the mechanics and wonder of the human body, which drives me to continually pursue further massage training, helping not only athletes, but anyone in pain.”–Elaine
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Since we were established therapists in the area already, it made the transition to owning our own place a little smoother. However, keeping up the changes in the economy and the internet have been challenging. While we are excited that there are massage chain establishments popping up all over the place bringing the industry more mainstream, distinguishing ourselves and our work has required a bit more creativity and effort.
We love our small shop and the fact that it allows us to put the focus and attention on our clients.
