So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Energy Nutrition, LLC (“Energy Nutrition”) was founded with the purpose of bringing personalized customer service back to the nutrition industry. The Company has always taken extra care to fulfill its customers’ health supplement and nutrition needs, as well as suggesting products to help with future needs.
The Company began as a sports supplement store, but over the years the products and services have changed and adapted to fit the customer’s needs. As the seller learned more about natural health products, he started carefully selecting the products carried at Energy Nutrition based on quality at the best price. Energy Nutrition has stopped carrying the highly marketed products with low-quality ingredients found at its competitors and found local companies to fit its needs.
Energy Nutrition’s organic smoothie bar is unique and only uses raw, organic produce without any syrups or powders. Instead of buying pre-made, in-demand products, such as kombucha and wheatgrass, Energy Nutrition began making them in-house.
Energy Nutrition has grown through networking with local gyms, Chambers of Commerce, and other health-related businesses in the area. It has done demos, donated gift cards, and provided personalized, expert service to the clientele which in turn, has earned their trust and loyalty.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Since opening 8 years ago, it has been anything but a smooth road. We have had to constantly adapt to our customer’s needs. Education consumers on what makes a product of good quality versus just good marketing has been very challenging. Competition does add another challenge. We have several stores surrounding us that offer products with ingredients that aren’t verified by companies that are not verified as legit companies. This allows for them to have huge profit margins with little concern for their customers well being. We offer local companies in our store where often times you can talk to the manufacturer yourself. Our smoothie bar uses Real organic produce without any syrups of powders. Educating consumers how crucial this is to overall health is another challenge. So many smoothie shops around us use a lot of syrups and added sugars or powders with a poor ingredient list.
Proving the difference in the quality of our products and the importance that it makes to your overall health has always been our biggest challenge.
ENERGY NUTRITION – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Energy Nutrition is an Organic Smoothie bar within a Nutrition store. We offer 100% organic smoothies without any syrups or powders. We grow our own wheatgrass and make our own Kombucha tea, Water Kefir and Cold brewed coffee in house and fresh. Our nutrition products are carefully selected from quality manufacturers with the lowest prices. Our grass-fed meats and local raw honey come directly from the farmers. All of this is what we are proud of and what sets us apart from the competition.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Simply educating our customers on the importance of Real ingredients of what you put into your body versus marketing. If we can educate a customer to understand the importance of quality over deceiving marketing and how to tell the difference, we consider that a success!
