Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Anderson.
Eric, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I helped to bring the Chicago beauty industry into the 21st Century by building buzz around new products and offerings designed to boost both appearance and wellness. I was a pioneer in the tanning segment when it first began heating up in 1998, opening my first Unlimited Tan location in the South suburbs, and we have continued to steadily expand across the Chicagoland market over the last 19 years. Unlimited Tan now operates eight successful locations and has loyal fans across the market. When I first discovered cryotherapy, which has a similar booth-per-room and session based format, I saw a major opportunity to diversify the Unlimited Tan brand by utilizing our existing space. With the launch of CryoLuxe, we will continue to innovate Chicago’s beauty and wellness space for years to come.
Has it been a smooth road?
No. To be candid: expansion has been challenged. Our client relationships are very important to us, so we have worked hard to staff our locations with only the best team members to provide them with the great service they deserve. We’ve grown from one employee to more than 40 employees now, so we have had to find a lot of great employees over the years, and that has taken time. But, it was worth it to set that base of success, because now we are really well positioned to grow throughout the market.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Unlimited Tan and CyroLuxe story. Tell us more about the business.
Unlimited Tan specializes in indoor tanning and sprays tanning. CryoLuxe specializes in cryotherapy. What sets us apart, and also what I am most proud of, is our commitment to providing the highest quality luxury services at prices that are affordable to the masses. Most of our competitors charge twice as much as we do, which not only limits access to services that improve people’s lifestyles but also limits their customer base. We would much rather lower the cost and increase our volume instead of charging everyone that walks thru our doors as much as possible.
How do you, personally, define success? What’s your criteria, the markets you’re out looking for, etc.?
We don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We bring proven services to areas that don’t have them yet, have inferior versions of them, or are overpaying for them. We have never closed a location, so this approach has been extremely successful for us.
