Emma, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Elite Nail Spa in Vernon Hills is one of family owned business. We began the spa in Roselle and we continue open additional spa in Vernon Hills and Batavia. As we continue finding an idea location to expand, we’re always finding ways to improve our quality of service to meet the demand of our customers.
20 years ago, many people are not familiar with our type of service, such as acrylic or gel, but for Nail Solon business within Vietnamese community become an area that they become an expert and very successful. Most of the member of our family began doing Nail from the day they landed in in United States. As I remember, Mid-August 2014, we had a family gathering in Orlando Florida and discussed about Nail business and how we grow the business within our family. At the time, we were debating if we will start in Ohio or Florida, Ohio at the time and still an area expanding nail business, or Chicago. Chicago is a city has many potential to grow and it is a better economy with beauty.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Due to constant competition in price, products and trends, we struggle finding a technician with high skills level and someone who loves their work. However, we realized it is a struggle to all Nail Solon, particular in Vietnamese community.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Elite Nail Spa story. Tell us more about the business.
We’re one of the lucky Nail Solon that love the work, taking care customers, and has high skill levels. Our No Chip manicure has many choices in color, designs and the level of amount of thickness and we have many happy and satisfy customers. We have family with 3 generation come to our Solon very happy and cheerful. Many come at the beginning of the week enjoying our services. Or just reading a book while enjoying our pedicure. We also have customer come after 6pm or after work to enjoy our pedicure and fall asleep. Many told us that they like to come because they wanted to relax and enjoying the environment.
What set you apart from others?
To appreciate our customers, all our technician doing their best to have a perfect set of manicure or pedicure. In addition, we utilize many ways to advertise our business and rewards back to our customers. We use our punch card for reward back to our customer; for every service we give one punch until the 7 punch they will receive a free service. This is the way to wanted to said thank you and appreciate our customers. Hopefully a little free service will bring us a good lucky day!
