Meet Ebby Lowry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebby Lowry.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I found my passion for photography kind of on accident when I began working on the yearbook staff as a senior in high school. From there, I was given my first camera for Christmas and haven’t put it down since. What started as a fun hobby quickly became something I knew I had to do for the rest of my life.

While in college, I began building a business. I photographed families, seniors in high school, dogs, bar mitzvahs, track teams… you name it. After trying my hand in many different photo genres, I found my true calling was wedding photography. Over my seven years in business, I have come to realize that photography giddy, couples in love brings me in the most joy.

I currently photograph 25-30 weddings a year and love each and every single one of them. I am still smitten for the little moments I witness at every shoot. I am located in the western suburbs of Chicago but travel worldwide. This year alone, I photographed couples in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts and Kentucky.

Please tell us about your art.
Joy. When my clients see themselves in photos, I want them to see joy. I want the photographs I take to make my couples fall more in love with each other. Not only when seeing the photos but also throughout the process. I believe the experiences had during the photo session is equally as important as the images delivered.

I want to give my clients beautiful images that represent them and their significant other how they are as a couple. I want the photos to be a constant reminder of how wonderful their love is with each other is.

With that being said, my photography style is natural. I provide guidance with posing, however each couple photographs differently and I love that.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
As an artist, I think things going on in the world have only made what I do more important. Regardless of national or international events, the photographs I take are full of happiness. Love, joy and happiness.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
