Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Scott Kenny.
Integrated Physical Medicine (New Lenox, IL location) was founded in September 2009, by chiropractic physicians Scott J. Kenny and Jon M. Polcyn.
Doctors Kenny and Polcyn both went to high school together and attended Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, IL. They also both received their doctorates from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL.
Integrated Physical Medicine (IPM) has been fortunate enough to be able to expand and grow over the past few years, opening new locations in Joliet, IL (2013) and Roselle, IL (2017).
The doctors wanted to operate in a manner that acts as a “one stop shop” for all of their communities’ healthcare needs. Integrated Physical Medicine employs chiropractic physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, massage therapists, and acupuncturists.
IPM has been able to grow with their communities volunteering time with various organizations, sponsoring local events, and serving as sports team physicians and trainers for local sports teams.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning any business has its struggles and no road is smooth. When we first opened the New Lenox office location, we had literally nothing to act as collateral. This was the time when small business loans were booming and we could not get a small business loan. We saved, borrowed, and did a little begging to open our first office location.
We have learned that nothing will ever come without risk and a little failure. Our successes are defined by hours upon hours of long hard work, sweat, and some tears.
It has been our model to surround ourselves with people who advise us accordingly and are not afraid to say “no”. Our business relationship follows the same suit. Dr. Jon Polcyn and I complement each other and we feed off of each other’s energy.
Integrated Physical Medicine – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We specialize in chiropractic care, physical therapy, and massage therapy. IPM is by definition a multi-disciplinary healthcare facility. We are known for being a “one stop shop” where our patients can come to the same place for all things conservative care.
We are most proud that a large percentage of our patients are referred directly from past and current patients. Our patients recognize their accomplishments and tell other people. We also have a lot of our patients directly referred for treatment from primary care physicians, pain management specialists, and orthopedic surgeons. We work very well with the other physicians in our community and feel it necessary to have an open forum and open line of communication with other providers. These facts set us apart from other offices.
Our goals are to continue to grow, expand, and help as many people with our approach to care. We are not solely a chiropractic office and we are not solely a rehabilitation facility.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There have been several proud moments over the past seven years. It is easy to say that being able to open more office locations is a “proud” accomplishment.
I do feel that what makes me most proud though is being able to provide a safe, fun, educational, and fulfilling environment for my co-workers. My staff is phenomenal and IPM would not be what it currently is without our current and past employees.
