Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Rajul Patel.
Dr. Patel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My morals have always been centered around helping others and extending a hand to those who need it the most. I always knew growing up I wanted to start a career in medicine but was a little uncertain of which field to pursue. While completing my undergraduate degree at Loyola University, I was offered a part-time job as a dental assistant. Instantly, I was captivated! On my first day, I knew I wanted to become a dentist.
I graduated from the respected New York University College of Dentistry in 2008 with high honors and brought my love of dentistry back to Chicago once I graduated. I founded Pure Dental Spa in 2010, with the dream of creating a one of a kind practice where patients can leave their fear of dentistry at the door. I’ve witnessed time and time again when people put off treatment because of their fear of the dentist. Pure Dental Spa was built on the foundation of providing the highest level of dental care within a relaxing spa environment.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Luckily, I’ve had great mentors and friends to guide me along the way. Running a practice has it challenges, but I’m grateful for the talented team we’ve build.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pure Dental Spa – what should we know?
Pure Dental Spa is changing the way you think about your dentist. Our holistic mission focuses on patient education, honest dentistry and the highest level of treatment. We’re big on technology! So, to ensure our patients have full access to the latest advancements, both our offices are equipped with the newest dental equipment on the market. We are one of few practices in the West Loop and Bloomingdale that offers Cerec Same-Day-Crowns, CT scanner, and Laser Dentistry. Plus, patients get full access to our complimentary spa services. Our multi-specialty offices consist of General Dentists, Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Oral Surgeons. We serve children and adults in the West Loop and Bloomingdale area.
I’m most proud of the talent team we’ve built at Pure Dental Spa. During our seven years of operation, we’ve crafted the best team imaginable. Several of our hygienists, assistants, and managers have been with our practice since we opened in 2010. Instilling the value of generosity to my team and seeing them project their passion for dentistry inspires me every single day.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My passion for dentistry has been my number one driving force for success. There is no better feeling than hearing a patient tell you, “Doctor, you helped me overcome my fear of the dentist”. Educating my patients, and knowing they leave each visit feeling 100% informed about their oral status, is beyond gratifying. I absolutely LOVE what I do and feel so fortunate to have built years of friendships with my patients.
