Meet Devanchey Bell of Goodsinners

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devanchey Bell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Devanchey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Being from the Westside of Chicago it was difficult to get where I am today. With all the odds against me I started my own clothing business in 2013 to explore more of my interest in fashion. I decided to name it Goodsinners Chicago (@Goodsinners) because it perfectly summed up the imperfections of man and how we are drawn from both sides. This was probably the happiest moment in my life. On all social media platforms I had about 30- 35 followers and 0 sells but the objective wasn’t to get sells but to spread a message that everyone could agree on. This allowed me an escape from what was going on around me and all my attention then went to making clothes. I had no room, or even an office to work on clothes. I simply had to work in my laundry room or in my backyard. I’ve took every card I’ve been dealt and tried to make the best of each situation. 4 years later I’ve gained 13,000 Followers on social media and Thousands of sales. From an environment many people fall victim of pressure of the streets. Also been blessed with the opportunity to work with celebrities and professional athletes all from the west side of Chicago.

Has it been a smooth road?
It wasn’t a smooth road. Tons of mistakes and lessons along the way. Through the struggles I persevered and learned lessons that were more valuable down the line.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Goodsinners story. Tell us more about the business.
Goodsinners clothing was created as a way to bring together people of all backgrounds. Goodsinners highlights the natural flaws of man in which we can’t escape nor ignore. We are all drawn from 2 sides. This message reaches beyond boundaries and could be understood through all walks of life. Our focus is creating fashion pieces with substance that can be spread through a large demographic. Messages that can bring values to others.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see everything being online! Retail stores will still be around but selling online will be a large part of business. I also see people having digital sales associates since now a days social media plays a huge role!
