Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Gibson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my work life in a small town hands on hardware store. Shortly afterwards I became a helper installing aluminum siding and seamless aluminum gutters. This grew into an additional 30 years of progressing through advances in technology in exterior remodeling in sales, installation, management and now ownership. Through my experience I’d consider myself a master designer and facilitator in the completion of any exterior remodeling project including window replacement, entry and patio door replacement, installation of vinyl siding, soffit, fascia, custom aluminum trim, seamless aluminum gutter systems, leaf protection, custom accessories including shutters, and window pediments.
My sales approach is one of absolutely no pressure in which I see myself truly as your “friend in the business”. I use my experience to educate potential clients to all their options in detail. This detail ensures and sets ground work for my high expectations to be achieved.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I find that the struggles of the remodeling industry are actually those of potential customers. I have found that it’s difficult for homeowners to complete the steps of finding someone to handle their projects. It isn’t easy. I was once asked in a contractor meeting “How many estimates should a homeowner receive before deciding on a contractor?” The lecturer was surprised when my answer did not follow the group’s consensus of 3 to 5 estimates maximum. My answer is “As many as it takes to find the contractor you fully trust and have the confidence will meet your goals.” I am personally a very good listener when it comes to a customer’s needs. I then like to educate to the possibilities I offer. This is the time the high pressure sales associate turns up the pressure to close the deal. All of the sudden you get a “special promotion” to sign up now. The overaggressive/overpriced guy that doesn’t want to leave. He knows if he leaves he won’t be invited back. You were happy to get him to leave. We’ve all been there. This is the time that I ask if we are ready to proceed or if they would like some time to digest all the information before deciding. It’s nice to leave knowing you’ve left a positive experience for all. I’ve had many homeowners tell me that they had nearly decided to completely cancel their project before meeting me.
Eagle Home Solutions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Wow! There is so much here. We specialize in residential exterior remodeling. We do a short interview to find out the desires of our potential customers. Based upon your needs we do a free home analysis and prepare a proposal with pricing including as many options as we offer. Once prepared we review the information to the client as conveniently for them as possible. There are never pressure sales tactics. We freely educate and communicate our findings.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
It’s not a moment. It’s my entire career. I’m so proud of the work I’ve done, the relationships I’ve built in clientele, in employ, and in life. Just being your “friend in the business” as the saying goes.

Dennis installed our siding and upgraded our house from “meh” to “upset-the-neighbors-because-it-looks-too-good-to-be-true”. The man is patient. The man is professional. He is 365 degrees of awesome, and I am glad we found him again after losing touch.
