Today we’d like to introduce you to David Blitz.
BlitzLake was founded in 2009 by David Blitz and Jeff Lake. Blitz and Lake are life-long friends who began their professional careers separately before collaborating on deals together in the mid-2000s.
Building on their past success in trading, real estate finance, and investment management, Blitz and Lake decided to establish an operational company to bring their various interests under the same roof with shared corporate personnel.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Figuring out how to put critical pieces together in time sensitive situations has been challenging, but we have gotten past them. For instance, building a sound proof broadcast studio for our Peloton bikes at Studio Three was extremely challenging since no one had done that before, especially with 140 bodies working out in 3 different studios with pumping music within 50 vertical feet.

BlitzLake is a privately owned Chicago based company that specializes in real estate development and fitness. We are the most proud of our team at Studio Three who has helped to make our gym among the top in the country.
What sets us apart is that on the real estate platform, we make decisions and can execute quickly, often within 24 hours- where most firms take days if not weeks to make a decision and execute as they are tied to corporate policies.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, we are happy where we are today!
