Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel O’Connor.
Daniel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I founded my company in 1983 under the name: Sportho Physical Therapy Ltd. The name changed some 10 years later when I added Aquatic Physical Therapy to our treatment and we became Sportho Physical and Aquatic Therapy Ltd.
We did very well over the years and have remained in the same building since inception. In 2014 I decided to become part of a larger franchise in order to meet the efforts of other providers of physical therapy.
Today, we are the fastest growing physical therapy franchise in the country.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The medical community has been slow to recognize the benefits of Aquatic Physical Therapy. It seems as though that has changed. Additionally, Vestibular rehabilitation has recently become very necessary.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers – Chicago – what should we know?
We have long been known for one-on-one physical therapy. Most clinics say that they do this, but most often, patients are given to aids or Assistants and not treated by a physical therapist. Aquatics is our biggest niche. We have been working with our pool for the past 34 years and have achieved remarkable results.

Since becoming part of Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers, in August of 2014, we have benefited from a pool of business knowledge that was lacking.
