Today we’d like to introduce you to Dane Stevenson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in Maryland, renovating and remodeling homes with my dad who specialized in high-end wood work. So you can say I have been in the high-end remodeling industry my whole life. However, technically is has been the past. 17 years. I started Arkwright Construction in January 2012 in an effort to continue my passion of the craft that is residential remodeling. Since then my company has been going strong. The work that we have done has been featured in a few magazines and articles. The mission of Arkwright is “We believe in quality workmanship that we exhibit through our experience and dedication to creating what our customers envision through quality craftsmanship. We value our staff and strive to create an enjoyable work environment to foster positive enthusiasm.”
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest struggle I come across is finding quality people interested in the craft of building as a career.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Arkwright Construction story. Tell us more about the business.
Arkwright is a residential remodeling company specializing in high-end interior finishes. I am proud of the quality that we are known for. People hire us to make sure their home is remodeled properly.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have been lucky to have met the people I have met along the way who have seen something in me and have been willing to give me a chance. Without that I would not be where I am today.
