Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Jurjovec.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Lakewest Custom Homes is a multi-generational family business. My Father, Tom Jurjovec Sr. started building homes in 1983, and as a result I have been around the residential new construction industry my entire life. As the new construction neighborhoods in south Naperville became largely built out, we turned our focus to teardown/infill projects in the downtown Naperville neighborhoods. Lakewest has completed over 100 projects in the downtown Naperville area with a focus on quality, value and customer service.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The housing industry took an enormous hit at the end of the last decade. With my full time home building career starting in 2003, I have seen a housing market go from red hot to massively depressed, and now very healthy again. While most of our competitor disappeared from the market place in 2008 – 2012, Lakewest made a commitment to our business model, our subcontractors and our community to weather the storm and work extremely hard for market share. I site the housing crisis as being one of the most influential and beneficial experiences of my professional career.

Lakewest specializes in building custom homes in the downtown Naperville area. Our company is known for designing and building new homes that fit well with the tree-lined character of downtown Naperville. Every project we are involved in is a one of a kind home that is designed and built to suit our clients’ vision and serve their everyday lifestyle perfectly. I am proud of the open and honest home building experience we provide our clients, and the relationships that last beyond the completion of each custom home.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was very focused on education and involved in athletics, I enjoyed the social component of growing up in a wonderful community like Naperville, and spending time with friends.
