So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After discovering a hidden talent for planning and creating unforgettable events through the event of being a mother, I decided to gain more knowledge and pursue a career in the industry. I am now a ABC Certified Wedding Planner, Certified South Asian Wedding Planner, and Certified Event Designer. This led to my ambition of leading my own team in doing what I felt most passionate about… which led to the launch of Royal Events.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It wasn’t a smooth road especially not the beginning! So much time and dedication are needed to build a business. The challenges I’ve encountered had been time management. Just being able to learn how to balance work and family but with time I have found ways to be efficient in both worlds. The one thing I learned about myself on this journey was the strengths I didn’t know I had and dealing with fears I didn’t even know existed.

At Royal Events, we will design your event to radiate style and fun, while ensuring that your unique tastes shine through every detail. We create events throughout Chicagoland area and beyond, each one as distinctive and completely unforgettable as the story it represents. Royal Events was first established in 2014, specializing in event design, planning and coordination for special events, such as weddings, social occasions, and corporate gatherings. We are masters of logistics, coordinating and quickly smoothing unexpected bumps in the road. We also established and are rapidly growing our rental shop available to all of our clients which carries decor such as linen, centerpieces, backdrops and more!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, what I would have done differently would be sitting down and creating a business plan. I didn’t have one in the beginning so I made a lot of mistakes, wasted time and lost income. A business plan is an important tool to help guide your decisions when starting a business. Now that I have one it has become my roadmap to success, providing greater clarity on all aspects of my business, from marketing and finance to operations and product/service details.
