Today we’d like to introduce you to Curtis Lamothe.
Curtis, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Over 25 yrs. ago, I started as a carpenter’s helper and then continued to work my way up. I learned different crafts, I installed windows, pagola’s and awnings, working for different companies and people, always wanted to have my own business is the deficits. I made a plan to have a business one day and after hard work I opened a small sole proprietor business installing shutters alone, then I got help from my son and as we grew it became a bit of a family business. I learn to treat my clients the way I wanted to be treated. I noticed that there was a need for more security as the world had begun to be a little more unsafe, so I continued to work and grow although it was hard. I love what I do. I love helping people protect their families, homes and businesses.
Has it been a smooth road?
No it hasn’t been smooth at all. It was expensive monetary and emotionally. I spent less time with my family which caused conflict, I spent lots of money not knowing how I would feed my family. People betrayed me, who I thought would be helping me. It has definitely been a struggle.

I love Chicago, this is a place that is hard but the people are the best. We look out for each other. We may disagree but at the end of the day we have one common ground we are all Chicagoans. I think the city can do much to improve and help business have a bigger reach, not to put so many restrictions.

I️ know curtis for more than 35 yrs and he has always been a hard worker he know what he wants and go after it ,even when life knocks him down he picks himself up he never use the word can’t he always say there is nothing you can not do if you try so he always strive to be better in what ever he do and he always helping others and encouraging them to do better in their lives as well he is an example for others if curtis can do it own his business anyone who wants to can do it just apply yourself and never give up am proud to be curtis wife .
