Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Skwor.
Cory, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Started in 2003, AD Medical was the only Chicago based organization providing Dietitians to the home of tube-fed patients. We believed that there was no better care than having an RD assess, set-up and educate patients, family, and friends in the comfort of their own home. The partnerships we created with hospitals, physicians, and home health agencies encouraged us to further our scope of services and become a larger extension of their care.
So, in 2007, we replicated this model by creating a diabetic management program to provide products and services to diabetics in the same fashion as we began… in the home. Today, we are the only comprehensive diabetic management and wellness program in Illinois providing services and products that help prevent and treat diabetes and its’ complications in patient’s homes.
We are proud to have pioneered the industry and to be the first of its’ kind in the state of Illinois!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As a provider for private, state and federal insurers, we are vulnerable to changes in our healthcare system. Each new political regime brings another challenge and business adjustments. Along the way, we have lost several key components to our business; such as Diabetic Testing Supplies, TENS (pain relief), Incontinence and Oral Products, and Enteral supplies as a result of competitive bidding.
America’s Dietitians – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
For 15 years America’s Dietitians has been devoted to providing progressive and compassionate care in order to make a difference in each patient we serve. Our registered dietitians travel to our patient’s homes and through medical nutrition therapy and first-hand instruction we help empower people to make healthy dietary and lifestyle choices. We take steps to further our patient’s diabetes education with the intent to prevent the disease and its complications as well as to better manage the signs and symptoms after diagnosis.
America’s Dietitians is a pioneer in the industry, having cared for over 20,000 patients with a team of 30+ registered dietitians across 12 states. We are proud to work with so many amazing people from all walks of life and to promote health and wellness throughout our communities.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success, to me, is the stories I hear from clients and/or families of how we improved their quality of life. “I followed up with a patient 3 months after her diagnosis and her A1c went from 8% to 5.1%” This is proof that we are making a difference not only in their lifestyle but with their overall health and wellness.
Our goals are to inspire and motivate our clients to make a difference in their lives through nutrition and lifestyle. By providing nutrition education, knowledge, and courage, we are helping our clients be more confident about improving their diet and health. We have some of the best Dietitians in the industry, we are confident that the small changes we are making to our client’s habits will improve health quality that will likely lead to many more changes in their future.
