Today we’d like to introduce you to Cortney Cox.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had a passion for making people feel good and help themselves. I went to school for esthetics in 2000-2001. After school, I have worked for a couple salons and spas throughout the years.
A little more than six years ago, I decided to branch off on my own. I offer clients waxing, organic facials, brow and lash tinting as well as lash lifts. I also decided to become a trainer for other professionals to train them how to properly and safely do the lash lift services. I am very passionate and love to do this work.
Has it been a smooth road?
Some of the challenges have been growing the business throughout the ups and downs of the economy. The nature of this business can also have little decreases and influxes of busyness. Also, keeping boundaries in regards to balance with work and life with clients can sometimes be difficult.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Wax Bar story. Tell us more about the business.
I decided to go on my own a little over six years ago. That’s when I started The Wax Bar. I specialize in waxing, lash lifts, lash and brow tints and organic facials. I completely practice what I preach. Everything in my business has been tried on myself and then approved to do on my clients. I offer my clients a private experience with one on one service. I try my best to assure they receive the time and service they need and deserve.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I am constantly taking new classes and learning. I hope to continue to bring that back to my clients. The esthetics world is ever evolving. It’s hard to even imagine what is on the horizon.
