Today we’d like to introduce you to Dorian A. Vinaccia.
On April 8th, 1988, Dorian arrived head first into this world within the small neighborhood of Hyde Park, Chicago. Hyde Park is a neighborhood of big diversity and small businesses, so Dorian grew up in an environment of acceptance and freedom, while also enveloped and surrounded by original ideas and entrepreneurship. As an avid video gamer, writer, and adventurist, his mind was full of wonders, imagination, and innovations – he believed that all things complicated should be practical, and all things practical should be utilized. In 2007, he was saved from his World of Warcraft video game addiction by his cousin and aunt when they asked him to join their carpet cleaning company. Over the past 10+ years, Dorian has learned and mastered the art of carpet and furniture cleaning, and has now ventured off on his own to implement his own innovations and imagination into the business that he’s grown to love.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, the only challenges that have stood in Dorian’s way are his recent back surgery, and the countless number of competing carpet and furniture cleaning companies that exist. This field of work is highly oversaturated, so standing out is an absolute necessity if you plan to compete. Your process has to be different in some way, and ours is just that! Our process is circular dry foam is like washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner, where steam cleaning (yuck!) is like just rinsing your hair and calling it washed – it may be wet, but it’s not clean! As far as the back surgery goes, Dorian had suffered chronic back pain for over 6 years and finally decided to do something about it. He underwent a tri-level lumbar laminectomy on March 31st, 2017, and the recovery time was said to be around 6 months or more; his business couldn’t wait that long, so his body jumped into gear and got him up and walking within the first two weeks, and working within the first month and a half! Although the pain hasn’t completely subsided, the drive and eagerness to work and get the company off the ground is more important than some aches and pains that painkillers can handle for the time being.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Growing up, Dorian would play video games with his uncles, his best friend, his best friend’s brother, and that same brother’s friends. Gaming was, and still is a very important part of Dorian’s life – he has been gaming since the tender age of three. Being surrounded by so many adults in a social setting, and on such a regular basis throughout his upbringing, Dorian learned a lot through typical conversation and quickly became very mature for his age, and with that maturity came advanced thinking and an enhanced and vivid imagination. It’s memories like these that molded Dorian into the person he is today – an ambitious, creative, and inspiring perfectionist that strives to continue to build on already great ideas, making them even greater, with hopes of achieving the impossible that it inevitably impossible to achieve: perfection.
