Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Kimberly L. Kaliebe.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Since I was in high school, I knew I wanted to be in health care. After some deliberation of what field, I decided to go into Chiropractic Medicine. As I continued through the rigorous program at National University of Health Sciences, Lombard, I decided to open my own clinic. Originally born and raised in Elmhurst, IL I wanted to stay close to my family. Finding the perfect location in Oakbrook Terrace, I was able to open ChiroHealth Integrative Wellness in March 2014. While my practice was up and running, I started teaching at College of Dupage, Glen Ellyn, in June 2014, specializing in Anatomy and Physiology with cadavers. As my passion for teaching continued to grow every semester, I was offered a part time position in the Kinesiology department at Elmhurst College, my alma mater. Along with my private practice, I continue to teach at both institutions.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Single handedly opening and running my own business as a young female and medical professional comes with a variety of struggles. I do my own book keeping, marketing, administrative work, and anything else that is needed at ChiroHealth, along with teaching every semester. Although there are struggles and everything keeps me busy, I would not change a thing.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about ChiroHealth Integrative Wellness – what should we know?
ChiroHealth Integrative Wellness is a Chiropractic Clinic that provides individually tailored care plans with the most up-to-date, evidence based therapies that are centered around an individual’s wellness. We believe that patient centered care sets each patient up for success. “Cookie-cutter” treatment plans simply won’t cut it at our clinic. Just like no two people are exactly alike, whether it is chiropractic, acupuncture, rehabilitative exercises, massage therapy or a combination of those, at ChiroHealth no two care plans are exactly alike. Patient education is a fundamental component of care. The more a patient understands their body and how it functions, the better equipped they will be at taking care of themselves to achieve optimal health.
It is vital for each and every patient that visits us to have a complete understanding of why the problem exists, why the treatment approach is taken and how to successfully reduce the risk of re-occurrence. The combination of patient education and care provided to each individual gives them the greatest chance of preventing future injuries as well as improving upon other health concerns they may have. Preventative care involves ergonomic correction both in the office and at home, rehabilitative exercises, stress reduction techniques, diet/nutrition as well as lifestyle modifications.
