Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie McCormick.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started in Real Estate in 1999. I was walking through the West Loop back in 1999 and saw a sales trailer sitting in the middle of a vacant lot. I went into the trailer to see what they were doing and the gentleman said they are building a residential building and they are setting up the sales trailer for the team. He asked if I wanted a job and the rest is history.
That week, I signed up for my Real Estate license and within 2 weeks I was sitting in that sales trailer selling one of the West Loop’s first new construction condo buildings. The first half of my Real Estate career was with some of Chicago’s most iconic Real Estate Developers – I feel privileged to have worked alongside them in transforming the neighborhoods here in Chicago. When I made the switch to brokerage I chose to work with Chicago’s number one – @properties
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The Real Estate market has had plenty of ups and downs in the past 19 years. I was selling Real Estate when developers would announce a new building and there were buyers lined up around the corner waiting to write a contract to times when people were losing their homes due to the crash of 2008.
Through the crash – I learned to add value during these low points. I found that a positive attitude could make all the difference to a client struggling through fear. Even in booming markets, buyers and sellers get apprehensive about the real estate process. staying positive reassures my clients.

I am a Real Estate broker with @properties. I specialize with all buyers, sellers, builders and investors.
I have has made an indelible mark on Chicagoland’s real estate market. With more than 19 years of experience helping people buy and sell homes. The Chicago Association of Realtors has ranked me among its top 1 percent of Realtors year after year. This year and last year I earned the organization’s Gold Award for sales volume, which honors sales volume between $30 million and $50 million.
I have been rewarded with the most amazing referrals and repeat business from loyal clients who’ve benefited from my expertise. My vast knowledge as a native Chicagoan combined with my patient yet persistent approach to getting clients what they want makes me an invaluable partner in the real estate process. “I work 24/7 and I am always available because I always pick up the phone!” As trends and market dynamics change and no two houses are precisely alike, I use my market insight to guide my clients in a winning direction. I am a true partner with my clients.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I am lucky to say that every day that I find a home for my buyer or sell a home for my client is a proud moment for me. My job is to make sure that my clients have the perfect transaction.
