Breanne and Alan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
While visiting several brewery tap rooms during a 2013 trip to Colorado, our vision for Plank Road Tap Room was born. We liked the idea of the brewery tap room and food trucks, and wanted to bring them back to our hometown in Elgin, IL. Within a year we opened our doors to a thirsty community that was waiting for just a spot like ours to open. This year we celebrated our 4 year anniversary with a newly branded tap room and anniversary logo!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We really haven’t hit any snags, other than quickly realizing we need more space. We have some new things on the horizon to hopefully fill our expansion needs.
Please tell us about Plank Road Tap Room.
Plank Road Tap Room is and American craft beer bar located roughly 40 miles outside of Chicago. We only serve craft beer, and recently decided to add 2 wines to our list. Our patrons enjoy the 1/2 acre beer garden and expansive front porch surrounded by 7 acres. Everyone really enjoys the beer selection and the space to unwind in. You don’t see that anywhere else.
