Thanks for sharing your story with us Bill. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am the youngest of 6 boys all of my brothers are tradesman. I am technically trained as an Electro mechanical Technician. I have worked in the trades for the past 35 years. I worked for Montgomery Wards handling all the day to day facilities maintenance on their Chicagoland based retail stores before opening my own business in 2006 Maintenance made easy also known as M2easy. Where we specialize in facilities maintenance and are considered Home repair specialist based on my teams years of experience and expertise in just what it is that makes you home work. We handle everything from floor to ceiling, general repairs to electrical to light plumbing and painting. We provide the expertise you need at a price you can afford to make your next call and easy one.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We tell all of our clients big or small that this is construction and being such, things sometimes don’t always go as planned, we cannot see behind walls and therefore we communicate the situation as best we can to help the client remain calm and always be professional. One of the biggest obstacles in the Handyman trade is poor reputation. We have thankfully and successfully been able to maintain a great reputation by delivering exceptional service and remaining truthful even though sometimes it may not be what you want to hear. If it is something we cannot do we will respectfully decline. Which has upset some because we come highly recommended. We’ve been around a long time and we have seen a lot go down. Batting clean-up after another contractor has botched a job is absolutely the worst because the client is already upset and distrusting which makes it is very difficult for them to trust again understandably so. But we’ve done it more times than we would like to.
Please tell us about M2easy Inc.
We specialize in Facilities Maintenance and Home repair specialization. When you want it done right and a professional company to be in your corner we are usually the company clients come to. We are licensed bonded and insured and pay taxes and our business is in good standing. We typically do not do full remodels although we have in the right circumstance. We typically handle punch list, wish list and over all general maintenance requirements. Ounce we work with a client they usually become a client for life. We answer the phone 24/7 the lights go out you call or text us we walk you through and help you troubleshoot at no cost over the phone as an example of the extent we go to for our clients. We provide 24/7 emergency service, after hours service and we document all of our jobs along the way for the protection of our technicians and clients with photos and video. So you will always know what you are getting. What sets us apart is we are trying to change perception of the handyman trade one client at a time.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
This is an interesting question, I’m not sure I would change much but we have a saying the best job you will ever take is the one you don’t take. That said great people make any business a success and it hasn’t always been easy to identify just who will be the best fit. But it’s from these life lessons that you become better educated on what not to do the next time around.
