Meet Arielle Azarias of AJABEAUTY/i•ellebeauty in Suburb (Bartlett)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle Azarias.

Arielle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a 27-year-old gal that is a full-time nurse during the week and a make-up artist during the weekends for different events like weddings, parties, and just for fun! These two amazing jobs that are part of my life now, are definitely what I did not think I would end up doing where I would find passion from it. I never wanted to be a nurse (even promised my father I would not be one) and I loved makeup ever since I was a child because of the artistic part of it, but never thought it would be something I would love to do on other people. What I did my whole life growing up, something I was so passionate and really wanted to make a career of was to be a performer/singer. My parents wanted me to have a regular stable job, so I ended up trying nursing and fortunately, I loved it and I love taking care of people. Now, with makeup, because I was performing throughout my life I did different types of makeup on myself and others whether is was natural, costume, or glam. A family friend wanted me to do her daughters makeup for homecoming, so I did it and then she hired me to do her prom and then referred me to other people. Then, those referrals turned to people wanting me to do their weddings. And that’s how I got started. I am very fortunate people trust in me, find joy in my work ethic/personality, as well as my makeup work. Because of their interest and trust, it made me want to be more passionate about makeup and that makes me love what I am doing. Not only do I get to be a nurse and take care of my patients, but I also get to make people feel beautiful for their special day when I do their makeup. It’s very fulfilling.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With nursing, going to school was a bit difficult for me because it was something totally different from what I was doing. I am honed more towards my artistic side, so to put that aside and learn science and all of that was a hard transition. What I did enjoy was the clinical part of it, the hands-on experience with people. You learn from your patients and it made me want to be the best nurse I can be. With my makeup life, it was much easier and luckily has been a smooth road for me. Because people enjoy my makeup and want me to glam them up, I get so happy and just want to continue to get better, be more artistic,
And to continue learning from others as well. Listening to your clients of what they like and what they want, will help guide you to be a better makeup artist.

Please tell us about AJABEAUTY/i•ellebeauty.
I am a makeup artist for different events whether it’s for weddings/prom/homecoming/parties/ theatre. What I am so proud of doing makeup is just making everyone who sits on my chair leaving happy and satisfied. Also, with creating a great rapport with them so they feel like they can trust me. I just want everyone to feel comfortable and satisfied because in return I also will feel satisfied that they are, which makes me even more passionate about what I love to do. I now also work with one of my best friends Danielle, who does hair on the weekends for events like me, so we work as a tandem and we love every ounce of it. We are called i•ellebeauty, You can check our IG page i_ellebeauty.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, I would not change a thing from the past, because whatever I am doing, I am loving. I am very happy to be a makeup artist and it is something that, yes I have fun with, but also take seriously. What I do know, what I want to do, is seize more opportunities when it comes my way, and though some might be challenging, I should just try it and do my best. Live with no regrets.
