Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Pamula.
Anna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in business in 1984, two years after I arrived from Poland. It was my dream as a teenager to work in a beauty business, but I was more interested in beauty from within than hairstyle, nails, and etc. I was shocked that women on Northshore were not showing much interest in facials and body care. My mission was educating Northshore residents in organic skincare, healthy, hygienic and respect of their body. I was the first to bring seaweed for face and body care and pioneer in Aveda skincare. I also brought the idea of disposable files and buffers in nail services. Autoclave for tweezers, metal pushers, and clippers. Our biggest success to pioneer CBD oils and magnesium oils for relaxation, reduction of inflammation, and tension relief.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I built a big business but I am still amazed how little care people give to their body. Massage in Ayurveda is a medicine in our lives it is a luxury and still is a luxury. If you say skincare people think face, few only include body from neck down. We do not give up and we continue educating. We notice also some success in spiritual services we use gemstones, aromatherapy oils, and dream catchers.
Please tell us about Renu Day Spa.
We specialize in connecting mind, body, and spirit. We have Reiki trained facialist and massage therapist. We also offer Ayurvedic services. Anna the owner is certified Aroma therapist, Reiki Master and teacher. She also received advanced training in Ayurvedic body care.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My cosmetic chemistry lessons from my grandma. She was teaching me how to combine strawberries and sour cream to create a great mask. To bleach my freckles with cucumber slices and color my hair with essences of boiled onion peels. She was so advanced in organic chemistry.
