Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Gallios.
Angela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began sewing as a child, thanks to my grandmother or (Mom mom) as she was called. I’ve always been creating something or other and recently have had the time to launch my own business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Probably the most challenging thing is just getting started and getting your brand and company name out there.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I actually started with another artist friend of mine with an up cycled tote bag project. Several directions later, I have my beloved atelier that is my work space, and I’m now doing bridal veils and headpieces, hats and fascinators, as well as all occasion hair ornaments. I hand make and hand sew all of the petals and fabric flowers that I use for my bridal and other hair adornments. When I started I wanted to create beautiful, one of a kind pieces that are fun to wear. I love helping brides put together a look for the most important day of their lives! I also do hats and fascinators, with artificial flowers, both of which I’ve always loved! My design aesthetic is vintage glam with organic elements. I am especially proud of the quality of the pieces I make. Everything is designed and created individually by me allowing me to customize any piece for my client.
What were you like growing up?
Extrovert, extremely talkative, creative, non-athletic, girly, loved books, had a huge doll collection, I was always a nurse or princess for Halloween!
