Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasia Nicole Flevaris.
Salon Lashe, a salon dedicated to all things eyelashes and brows was founded in 2011. Its parent company The Lashe was founded in 2007.
When the lash extension industry was in it’s infancy, the products and adhesives were inferior in quality and hold. Knowing that there had to be something better out there we embarked in formulating our own adhesive. Today, it is the preferred adhesive for seasoned and established stylists globally. The line is found in over 10,000 salons and spas globally and has a strong following. That was not enough, as we were preforming removals at the product office almost daily, we needed a facility to showcase proper application and training space. The salon was born out of unmet needs in Chicago, and we are now the premier salon for eyelash extensions in the Midwest, not only Chicago. Students fly from all over the world too seek out our expert training and we are a destination for lashes and brows.
We have since expanded to offer services in hair stroke tattoo brows, scalp tattooing and areola reconstruction.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With every new start up there are its trials and tribulations. The main obstacle in starting with a fresh industry is educating the consumer. This industry is fragmented and not regulated. People didn’t know what good work looked like until we stepped on the scene. Anyone can take an online course and hang their shingle out the next day, still to this day. Teaching the clients that the way we do extensions does not compromise the health and integrity of their lashes, in fact from not wearing mascara lashes done our way actually make the natural lashes healthier, was the biggest hurdle.
Beyond that most stylists use low quality adhesives produced in China. Reactions are rampant in our industry for this reason. Explaining to the consumer that in our salon we formulated the adhesives we use and our produced in an FDA certified facility here in the US was a big one. We just had to get them in the door, let them smell the adhesives, touch the lashes and see that using The Lashe Technique the lashes lasted indefinitely with monthly relashe appointments.
Once they were brave enough for an initial appointment, saw the results, word spread.
Salon Lashe and The Lashe – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At our flagship salon, Salon Lashe, we are known for some of the best lash work globally. Our clients love The Lashe Technique as we can give them an eye lift without the scalpel. What we tell our clients is to give us 2 hours and we will change their lives. People don’t realize how much time they spend getting ready, and with the eyelash extensions they awake refreshed looking and alive. This would not be possible without The Lashe Rapid Dry adhesive that is the safest and best performing adhesive. The hold is unbelievable and clients do not sense or feel it. Most fall asleep during the application.
We are most proud of the products and technique because they go hand in hand. It is most rewarding when we can give our clients the appearance they desire without looking false. When we are treating those with alopecia or have lost their brows or lashes because of chemotherapy, I have to say that is the most rewarding. To give them lashes or brows where they didn’t have much, that’s makes us wake up in the morning.
Teaching, though, has its own gratification also. Our goal is to try and make our students better than us so they can go out into the world and spread what took us years to hone and perfect. Sharing our line and techniques and seeing a stylist blossom is very gratifying and rewarding thing.
What sets us apart is our dedication to excellence in application and products for both the stylist community and our retail consumers.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Our success is measured in the success of our students and the happiness of those wearing our lashes and brows.
Success is dependent on effort, therefore we are constantly innovating and working to reach the next milestone through re-engineering products and using new technologies to advance the field.
The basic markers are simple, smiles and hugs. It’s a wonderful thing to see a student achieve a new skill and when they land it properly that huge smile. The other is the joy we give to the customer when we show them the end result and smile hug and kiss us. It’s euphoric.
