Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Angellotti.
Amy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated college in 2004 from Eastern Illinois University. I always knew I would go into sales just not sure exactly what. My sister Mia had already been working in the pallet business in sales. After seeing her success I decided I would give it a try. I went to work in 2005 for a pallet company and started my sales career. I always had the dream to be an entrepreneur and start my own company one day. After 6 years of working in the pallet industry and my sister having been in it for 15 years, we decided it was time to start our own company. Fast forward to 2011 I partnered with my sister Mia Allen and my uncle Alan Rose and we established Rose Pallet. Since starting Rose Pallet we have faced many opportunities and have always overcome any obstacles.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Before starting Rose Pallet, I was just a sales person and never had experience in running/managing a company. I had to learn based on trial and error and from specific situations in order to learn what the best solution would be. There are so many factors that apply to business. Whether it be learning how to budget, new laws, employees, insurance and banking just to name a few, It took me several years to learn and be comfortable with many of these things in business. When in business things are ever changing and you always need to keep educating yourself.
Rose Pallet – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At Rose Pallet we build, recycle, repair and sell millions of high-quality pallets per year according to our customers’ exact specifications. We can even schedule an on-site visit to build a crate around your product. Our goal is to help simplify your shipping operations with our complete line of pallet management services. Whether your business requires custom-engineered solutions or heat-treated pallets to help comply with import/export regulations, our specialized services are designed to meet your needs. We take sustainability serious, too, which is why we offer a pallet recycling program and our containment and collection program for scrap materials.
At Rose we are most proud of the extreme growth we have had in such a short period of time. The ability to persevere through any situation with great communication. We are experts in the industry from our combined experience of over 30 years. We strive to be solution providers and partners with our customers not just another commodity seller.
Why Rose…we listen. We understand that although there are industry standards, every company is unique in its own way. We take the time to understand your operational requirements instead of forcing you to fit into pre-determined programs.
We’re responsive. Have you ever been frustrated by an organization that is difficult to contact? Usually, we’re available to take your call. However, if we aren’t and you leave a message then we’ll call you back within 30 minutes. We deliver business solutions. With the capabilities to provide a variety of pallet and lumber products, we can provide solutions that many single source suppliers simply can’t. Whether you need new pallets delivered daily or used pallets dropped in a trailer, we can help set you up with cost-effective programs that maximize your space and shipping speed.
We have a proven methodology. We’ve developed and refined our methods over many years, so you can expect our services and products to be delivered consistently. This not only provides peace of mind, but also ensures that your manufacturing or shipping process is never delayed because of pallet issues.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment has been to look back and see how much I have grown as a person and a sales person in my industry and what I am been able to accomplish in the last 12 years. Having that dream as a child to be successful and own a company as a woman gives me daily satisfaction. Helping others have the opportunities to succeed as well. Taking the risk of opening up a company with my sister and uncle. Even though it is harder than I ever thought possible, it has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done to date.
