Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Lacie.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been a literary fan. My love of books has introduced me to authors from all over the globe. In 2015 I decided to take the plunge into the author world. I published my first book in September and I have never looked back.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m not sure if there’s a smooth road anywhere in life. Each journey or path has it owns struggles. As long as the good outweighs the bad, it doesn’t matter how smooth it is.
With writing comes the opinions of others. Not everyone will like my style, methods, or my books. That’s the brilliance of art. Everyone sees everything differently. I have had to learn how to take the negativity along with the positive. I like to think of it as a little salt mixed in with my sugar.
Author Amber Lacie – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a contemporary romance author who loves to dabble, in my readers call, ‘the feels.’ When you connect emotionally with a book you get sucked into another a world. If it’s a great book you can get lost there.
I like to think I offer an escape from the everyday stress of the world, by giving my readers stories that will do more than just hold their attention. I offer roller coaster ride of feelings with a touch of shock and awe. Readers never know what to expect with my work.
My tagline is “Expect the unexpected.” I like to think I hold true to that.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Last year I was able to attend two book signings, where I sold out. It was an amazing feeling.
