Meet Amanda Bose, DC, ND of Bose Complete Medicine in Addison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Bose, DC, ND.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Amanda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I first got into the natural health care profession when I had a gymnastics injury in which my orthopedic doctor was recommending surgery. My father took me to a chiropractor who was able to get me out of pain and rehabilitate my condition for optimal function. I then attended University of Maryland where I got a B.S. in Kinesiology to advance into a postgraduate Doctor of Chiropractic program at National University of Health Sciences in Saint Petersburg, FL. Throughout this program I learned about the importance of clinical nutrition, botanical medicines, nutraceutical supplementation, etc and how these therapies can be applied for healing a wide array of conditions and provided optimal health. I graduated with the DC in 2014 and then entered into a Family Practice Residency program at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL where I completed the Naturopathic Doctor program in 2015. Throughout the residency I was able to enhance my skills with more independence and learn from an array of experienced doctors. I recently opened Bose Complete Medicine in April 2017 to treat the Chicagoland community with natural therapies.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been smooth. A lot of work goes into the schooling it takes to become a Naturopathic and Chiropractic Physician. You get burned out and worn down but the opportunity to help others pushed me forward. Opening Bose Complete Medicine took much planning- saving the initial investment, deciding location, branding/marketing of the practice, purchasing necessary supplies, etc.- all takes up time, effort, and resources. Luckily, my husband does social media marketing so this has been a HUGE help. When the first patient walked through my doors it was very satisfying and made everything worth it!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Bose Complete Medicine story. Tell us more about the business.
Bose Complete Medicine specializes in offering evidence-based natural therapies to the Chicagoland community. I am known for getting to know my patients thoroughly through spending the time to get to the root cause of their complaints. I treat a wide variety of disorders including gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, autoimmune, mental health, and musculoskeletal disorders. I also help people who are perfectly healthy stay that way. I think what sets me apart is my ability to spend more time with my patients compared to conventional medicine practitioners, and using evidence-based natural therapies that have been shown to be effective and non-harmful compared to other complementary/alternative healthcare providers who may not. I am most proud of being able to help people with conditions that they have been suffering with for a long time. Instead of masking the problem, I get to the root cause. It is very satisfying to hear someone tell you that they feel better because of YOU, when no one else had been able to help them.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say rather than luck, that my optimistic outlook and ability to put in hard work has played an enormous role in where I am now in my life and business. Even if there was a roadblock, I always looked for a way around it that maybe would not have been my first choice, but still got me to a successful place in the end.
