Meet Alexandra Davie and Quentin Davie of QnA Fitness in NorthShore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Davie and Quentin Davie.

Alexandra and Quentin, please share your story with us.
My original career path was a professional dancer and once we started a family I had to shift some things around so we both could reach our career goals. My husband (Q) encouraged me to go after my yoga certification and I’m so glad I listened to him. I finished my 200 hr. certification a day before we moved to Chicago. I started teaching yoga and soon after sparked an interest in Spin. Once trained, I began teaching spin, yoga, and strength and I fell in love even more with the community and fitness culture. Quentin had a background in strength and personal training and was approached to teach Cycle. He excelled quickly and soon became a premiere teacher in the northshore. After working in studios, we decided to venture out together and bring our best to fitness seekers. We created QnA Fitness to help all people on their fitness journey. We currently do mobile fitness and pop up classes around northshore. We love finding new styles of fitness to bring to our clients and we are excited about the future of QnA Fitness

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, like most things you go through ups and downs and self-doubt and we’ve struggled with all of those things. The fitness world can be very conflict oriented behind closed doors and it’s something that we just don’t do. We are in the business to help, have fun, and encourage. This is one of the reasons why we created a business together and outside of the “boutique studios,” being your own boss cuts out a majority of the behind the scene drama.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with QnA Fitness – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
QnA Fitness is a mobile fitness company bringing many genres of fitness to people around the Northshore. We create pop up classes and small group personal training classes. We bring everything you need for that reserved workout. I think what sets us apart is being mobile. You reserve a class and give us quick details of your fitness goal and we create a workout plan to help you achieve the goal. Our most proud moments as a company is stepping out and just doing it. We’ve always talked about owning our own brand/studio and finally, we said: “why not now?” I’m proud that we get to be on this fitness journey together as a family.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans are to get bigger and get better. Learning is key and finding premiere training in new fitness styles helps to keep us stay relevant and on trend in the fitness world. Alex loves training in new styles and bringing them into our community. She just wrapped up her certification in barre class. In a year or two, we would love to open a studio in addition to our mobile and pop up classes.
