Meet Adriel Rodriguez of AmRide

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriel Rodriguez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Adriel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
AmRide was established in 2011, we started driving family and friends in 2012. In 2014, we launched our app. During that time, our service area grew from central Connecticut, to encompass southern New England and Eastern New York. Through our partnership with AAA we expanded to the Cincinnati Metro market in 2015, in 2016 we entered into the Chicago market, and in the beginning of this year we introduced AmRide service to south west Florida.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting and growing a business is never an easy task. Getting the right technology was our first hurdle, which we have been successful in developing thanks in part to a partnership with a group of UCONN graduates. Designing our logistical and hiring processes is something we spent a lot of time and brain power on. Currently our largest challenge is letting people know that we exist as a tool to make their lives easier and to keep them safe.

Please tell us about AmRide.
AmRide provides insured drivers to make the lives of our clients easier. We conveniently solve transportation challenges, clients use us to attend multiple meetings in a day while staying in contact with their team safely from the backseat of their car. Our clients stay safe after events or nights out, by utilizing our designated driver service. We are used to drive their parents, we drive their children to school every morning, or back and forth to college, we’ve even driven the family dog to the lake house.

We are proud that every time a ride is reserved we know that we are preventing an incident of distracted or impaired driving. We are happy to be a tool which is used to keep not only our clients, but the entire community safe.

Our service is unique in that we drive our clients in their cars. Taxis and ridesharing do not get people’s vehicles home and they do not provide the degree of comfort or discretion that is desired by many of our clients.

Traditional livery services can have cumbersome booking processes and lack on demand availability, they are also not likely to be used outside of special occasions.

AmRide is easy to use and right on the client’s phone. Our drivers, besides going through an involved vetting process, and training on matters of customer service and discretion sign Non-Disclosure Agreements, so AmRide customers are comfortable that not only are they and their property being protected, but so is their privacy.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My father and I had a tradition while I was growing up. Every year for my birthday, we would take a road trip just the two of us. Usually we would drive up to Boston from Connecticut. We would stop in Framingham Massachusetts where there was a store that sold die cast models of cars, which I collected. I would get a new car then we would have an adventure in the city. It was great one on one time with my dad away from my three other siblings.
