Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Guardiola.
Adrian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 1991 I started off as an airbrush artist and ventured out into tattooing 7 years after as a self-taught artist. Working private venues and honing my talents onto my friends. I went to open up a tattoo and body piercing shop and have been here for 12 years. I’m also looking into other business opportunities that tattooing has allowed me to pursue. I have an awesome crew that stands behind me and the shop, our quality and dedication speak volumes.
As a result, I started apprenticing in 2008 and have helped artists establish their own successful careers. I hope to continue to share my talents with the world, collaborating and working alongside great artists and contributing unique and personal works of art to each and every client.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Many hardships due to economic changes. Struggles along the wayfinding artists with the right mental attitude and motivation. Other tattoo shops opening around the area contribute to an oversaturation of substandard work. Staying relevant as a shop in peak and slow seasons.
Please tell us about Fifth Sun Graphix.
Fifth Sun Graphix is a Tattoo and Body Piercing Shop. We offer unique and designs concepts to each and every client. We can take your ideas and bring them together as a whole. We take high pride in freehand drawings/script and not your traditional everyday font. We specialize in black and grey and color work and we also do amazing cover-up work. Fifth Sun Graphix is highly known for its freehand work.
I am most proud of as a company the credibility and longevity of my staff. What sets us apart from others is our down to earth sensibility to each customers needs and wants for their permanent artwork, our friendly staff and definitely our private environment.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory as a child was family outings, my friends. Growing up in the city was a unique and challenging experience. Most importantly my parents because they instilled in me the dedication and work ethic I strongly live by, which has helped mold me into what I have achieved today.
