Today we’d like to introduce you to Mercedes Soto.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started lifting weights as a way of staying in shape. Diagnosed with lupus over 26 years ago. I knew I had to live a healthier lifestyle and keep active. I always had a passion with people and fitness. To support and motivate others to push though obstacles and focus on their goals. In saying that I started myself focusing on me and started competing in bodybuilding. My father was a bodybuilder, so I guess it was in the genes… lol! Truthfully, I just love it. It amazes me how with proper training is an eating smarter… your body can transform into something amazing.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Actually, not so bad. My dad is a carpenter, I was able to know how much to pay or what I needed in my studio. My fiance helps me with some of the labor work. Certified and licensed in everything… bonus! Everything else, I did my homework on it and went from there and applied it to my studio. Had to fire a few contractors… but I think that is normal starting a business. My advice is: knows what you want, write it down, and go for it! You determine your path.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Elite Physique Fitness Studio – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
One of my proud moments would be being a business owner. Teaching my kids that with perseverance and Faith all is possible. I’m a motivator by heart. I carry my heart on my sleeve but I am a tough one but a kind trainer. I build a trusting relationship with my clients. Support and educated on proper techniques and healthy eating habits. We work as a team.
Who have you been inspired by?
My mom. She’s raised 5 women by herself and dedicated her life to us. My training coach Ladrissa Bonival. She knows what she wants and goes for it. She opened 2 successful fitness studios on her own. She inspires me because she is a bodybuilder, coach, business owner, and a kind friend.
