Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonia Sanchez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I was younger, I always loved playing with makeup. I would always do makeup on my family members for special occasions. As I grew older, I realized that this is what I loved to do and I wanted to learn new techniques. I then decided to take action and become a certified MUA. Once I became certified, I made sure that friends and family were aware of my services and eventually started building out a client base through word of mouth. And today, I couldn’t be any happier that I made this decision and pursued my dream. As they say, do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being in the beauty industry as a makeup artist can be challenging. Creating a client base at first can be challenging as most referrals are through word of mouth. My advice to others starting in this industry would be to advertise and build strong relationships with clients and eventually, you will see the rewarding results.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a certified makeup artist. I love what I do and there is nothing better than seeing my clients happy. Every person is beautiful inside and out but being able to see that boost in confidence level, and seeing how satisfied they are with my work is the most rewarding part of my job.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
The most important piece of advise I can give anyone is to always follow your dreams and never give up on whatever it is you are pursuing. The moment you give up is the moment you miss out on a potential opportunity.
