Today we’d like to introduce you to Warren Wallace.
Warren, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well it begins in the early 80’s, I installed carpet for 20 years. I was looking for something else to do as I needed a change. I found a company in Indiana that sold equipment and did training for carpet cleaning. It was an easy transition since I knew a lot about carpet. I have learned a lot in the 15 years as a cleaner we know do rugs, furniture, draperies, tile and grout, and wood floors. We do both residential and commercial work. We just moved into our new home in Lake Bluff and will have a complete rug washing facility.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business, some things you have to learn as you go. I’d like to think after 15 years we would have it figured out but we are constantly learning and tweaking things. I take and will always continue to take classes as you never stop learning.
Please tell us about Magic Carpet Pride.
We are a cleaning company but we also work with and help people maintain their home and business. I know what it takes to not only clean but help our clients keep things looking great even after we are gone. We Take a lot of pride in what we do and it shows in our work. I couldn’t do this alone and my team work hard to maintain high standards in all that we do. In fact, our slogan is “committed to service excellence” and we don’t take that lightly! We also offer 100% guarantee if someone isn’t happy with our work we don’t want their money.
People ask what sets you apart from the rest…. I will say this the list is long! It starts with a crew that treats your home like it’s their own from shoe covers to corner guards – tarps to protect the floor and a seal a door that keeps the cold or hot weather out. We are honest and genuine and our clients appreciate it.
We offer a lot of services!
We clean all types of carpets both residential to commercial. We clean furniture and drapery’s -wood floors- tile and grout and area rugs. We also offer protection for carpets and furniture.
One of proud moments was 2011 we were asked to clean fort Knox by the carpet mills. It was a large job over 500,000 sq. ft. and with a crew of seven it took us 3 weeks.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I grew up in Maine and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love anything outdoors and Maine has it all!
