Today we’d like to introduce you to Wan Ru (Amanda) Yao.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in Taiwan where I operated my own furniture and interior design business for 8 years. I worked as a salesperson for 10 years before that, so I have a lot of business experience. While I was still in Taiwan, a friend of a friend (Louise Tondini) came to study Chinese. I said she could stay with me, and we became good friends. Before coming to Taiwan, she had a small cleaning business. I love anything related to making people comfortable in their homes and work environments, so I started asking her questions. Louise told me how she would always try to cater to the customers’ needs since no 2 jobs are alike. That’s the same business mindset that I would use in my furniture and interior design business, so I decided that a cleaning company that could be flexible and versatile to suit customer needs was a great idea!
Amanda’s Cleaning Enterprise is a 5 in 1 cleaning company. It’s both commercial and residential. Louise said that many people, who have a home and business, prefer to deal with just one cleaning company.
For those who need it, we also offer pre-cleaning organizing. In reality, we’re happy to help with organizing at any time. For residential customers, we also offer bathroom exhaust fan cleaning (If it’s fuzzy on the outside, you don’t wanna know what’s on the inside!) and dryer vent cleaning (a great safety and energy saving measure).
Furthermore, I’m excited to be able to introduce a well-known cleaning agent from Taiwan. I call it Citrus Clean. Not only is it an environmentally friendly and safe natural product, but it’s really effective in cutting through grease and disinfecting.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say that it’s been a bumpy ride, but it involves a lot of hard work. However, I enjoy the challenges that building a new company bring. It’s really very exciting to be able to build a company into something that provides just what the customer needs!
Moreover, as a team, Louise and I plan to combine our business experience to make Amanda’s Cleaning Enterprise the kind of cleaning company you want to come to your home or place of business.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Amanda’s Cleaning Enterprise – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
As I stated earlier, my company is both a commercial and residential cleaning company, which also offers bathroom exhaust fan cleaning, residential dryer vent cleaning, and pre-cleaning organizing. No other cleaning company combines these 5 services into 1. We also use either natural or chemical cleaning products. It’s customer’s choice!
Besides the above-mentioned services, we also clean dental and medical clinics, common-areas in apartment and office complexes, as well as move-ins/move-outs. We even do windows.
We have written cleaning standards which all employees are trained to follow. Furthermore, we assign staff to specific jobs, because we know customers like the consistency. They will know who’s showing up for the job and won’t have to worry about having different people coming in each time their home or office is cleaned.
Our company serves not only the English-speaking population, but also the Chinese speaking community.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’m from Taiwan, and it has some beautiful scenery in the mountains and by the ocean, but I really love the clear blue skies and amazing sunsets here. And this spring, I’d never seen so many amazing, flowering trees. I must say that I also loved the winter weather. I’m enjoying each and every season as I experience it!
Chicago has a great selection of very delicious food, but sometimes I miss my favorites from back home – like stinky tofu. So if anyone knows where to find stinky tofu in Chicago, PLEASE let me know.
