Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Lee.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Michelle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
TheGlamMom.com started because I needed a creative outlet for myself. As a stay-at-home mom to 3 small kids (3, 2 and 9 months at the time), I felt like I didn’t have anything for just myself. I wanted a place to share the things I love and also keep me occupied and possibly turn it into a small business. My husband, my cousin Tamara and I brainstormed in text messages about a name and when we all agreed, the Glam Mom was born in July 2015 and went live in August.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This endeavor has not been easy. It’s been just about 3 years now and I still have no idea what I’m doing! The biggest thing I struggle with is TIME. I have a lot of other responsibilities that must come first, so The Glam Mom is always the last thing I can think about most days. But I try to keep it active because #1 – I really do love it. And, #2 – I know other people enjoy it. I do hear from people that I help them feel confident in themselves and inspire them to try new things. And that means so much. There’s nothing better than being told you’ve impacted someone’s life in a positive way, even if it’s something as minor as cosmetics of fashion.
Any advice? Just do something you enjoy. And don’t let people talk you out of things. If you have a goal, go for it. You’ll figure it out and it will happen for you if it’s something you really want. And, don’t be afraid to ask for help!!! I pull advice from countless people and sources. You never know what piece of advice will be the key to your success.
