Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Sills.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I struggled to develop self-esteem and break out of my shyness shell. I learned at an incredibly early age that I could use my style as a form of self-expression, to show the world who I was. I often felt like my style was my voice before I found my actual voice. I personally experienced the power of an aligned personal style and how it can help boost confidence in ways we often can’t even imagine. My personal experiences grew my desire to help others experience an increased sense of confidence and success in their lives, both personally and professionally, through the power of style.
As a Chicago based personal stylist, image consultant, and speaker, I believe what we wear is more than “just clothes.” Instead, I believe it’s about creating a personal style that works for each individual’s lifestyle, career, and personality. With certifications from The Fashion Institute of Technology in Image Consulting, The School of Style taught by top LA stylists, and from Stacy London from TLC’S “What Not to Wear.” Combined with a Bachelor of Art in Fashion Marketing & Management from the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago and working alongside the Senior Fashion Editor of Marie Claire Magazine. I bring extensive experience in the fashion industry the work I do today. I bring a unique, realistic approach to style to help create massive confidence for every client.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! I started my business when I was 22 years old. I really had no idea what I was doing or what running a business really required. Personal styling was (and still is to some degree) a pretty foreign service for many people, so it took a lot of trial and error to figure out how and where to market/grow my business.
My best advice to anyone just starting their journey is to not give up. I know it sounds cliche and we hear it all the time but it’s the mentality I’ve lived by since starting my business, and what I think has kept me going. There will be ups and downs, just like anything, but when you’re following your dreams it’s all worth it.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Image Success by Mallory – what should we know?
I’m a personal stylist, specializing in helping individuals develop a wardrobe that not only looks great but makes them feel incredibly confident. I work with clients in person as well as virtually. My 1:1 services include, but are not limited to: closet cleansing, personal shopping, event styling, and digital lookbooks. I host a weekly podcast where I talk about all things style, beauty and confidence related. Additionally, I’m a professional speaker. My presentations vary depending on the needs of the group or organization, but most often, I present on topics related to professional style.
I’ve had the opportunity to work and train with the best in the industry, I believe that combined with my own personal experiences with style is what sets me apart from others. I use a holistic approach in the work I do with my clients, as opposed to a one-size-fits-all mentality.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I think so! As I mentioned, I struggled to find my voice and confidence growing up which I believe has helped me relate to my clients in a really unique way.
My parents are business owners and the hardest working people I know, I’ve always believed having them as examples and watching their success journey has had a massive impact on my own experiences.
