Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Love.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started blogging as a creative outlet. I was a preschool teacher at the time, & I loved sharing fun ideas & activities we did in the classroom. When I became a mom, my blog became more personal. I started sharing more stories, encouragement, & the “I’ve been there, you aren’t alone” posts. Through that, I’ve connected with lots of moms over the years & I love the sense of community my blog brings me. Not only that, but I absolutely love documenting life — my feelings, my growing children, sweet memories of my family & all the struggles along the way — because motherhood deserves to be written.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are many challenges and struggles I have encountered through my journey as a mom blogger, but one of my biggest challenges deals with social media. When I first started, I thought I had to fit a certain mold. I thought I had to emulate other bloggers to be successful, but I realized that it’s authenticity that makes me stand out from the extremely crowded world of mommy bloggers. My advice is to stay true to yourself, even if you think “everyone else is doing it this way.” Be confident in doing things differently.
We’d love to hear more about The Love Notes Blog.
I’m the writer behind The Love Notes Blog, owner of Kristen Love Photography, and the Video Content Manager at DailyMom.com. I love that my work allows me to be creative in all aspects, and it’s never redundant. Whether I’m collaborating with a brand to create a fun, informative post for my blog, capturing genuine moments behind the lens, or discovering new ways to edit compelling video content for brands, it’s the creativity that drives me to deliver content in innovative ways.
Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mom is a huge inspiration to me. She’s the strongest person I know, and when she sets her mind to something, she achieves it. She refuses to fail and I admire that about her. She’s given me so much confidence, not only from her words of support but just by leading by example.
