Meet Olivia Nicoletti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Nicoletti.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am passionate about creating the perfect event to highlight the extraordinary love between two people. I graduated from Cornell University and my career began in consulting, where I learned how to think critically, be direct, and adapt to clients. These skills have transformed my working style. I moved onto nonprofits and events next, and although I have worked in a variety of roles, weddings are what make my heart glow.

Weddings are meaningful, festive, fun, silly, nerve-wracking, raw, emotional, but most of all, joyful. I especially enjoy weddings that are chock full of details – sometimes, small things elevate an event and make the couple’s personalities shine.

Please tell us about your art.
I am a wedding and event planner, and beyond executing the logistics of event, there is such creativity that goes into pulling off the perfect event. Planners need to have a sharp eye and the ability to think outside the box. I work carefully with every client to think through their vision, and maximize their budget for the maximum impact. My message to every client: be yourself! It’s easy to get steeped in the world of Pinterest, but the most important thing on your wedding day is to create a day that reflects your personalities, as it is the beginning of your marriage.

I’m proud to collaborate with many Chicago vendors to design eye-catching tablescapes and dreamy backgrounds for couple portraits.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Network! I try and attend as many industry-related events as possible, and I have found some wonderful friends who are willing to co-work, or just enjoy each other as friends! I also recommend reaching out to similar artists / professionals and offer to take them to coffee. It’s a much lower pressure setting to meet others.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I am proud to share my portfolio on my website, https://www.olivefineweddings.com/portfolio-1/, and have been featured in some wonderful publications, like Wedding Chicks and 100 Layer Cake. Direct links to those can also be found on my website: https://www.olivefineweddings.com/features/
