Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Fauls and Jeffrey Maitland.
CHI thee WED is the first Chicago only wedding and inspiration blog with a local vendor directory! Our focus is to be approachable, integrated, and inclusive to everyone. Jeff and Nicole are the power couple co-founders of CHI thee WED and they were inspired by another local wedding blog, while planning their own wedding in Nicole’s hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Nicole is the owner of an event planning company here in Chicago, Urban Allure Events and Jeff is a web designer with his company 7 Birds Design. They wanted to create a platform to share, learn, and inspire with local vendors and couples in the city they call home.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The hardest part about launching CHI thee WED was definitely all of the behind the scenes website work that needed to go into creating a blog with daily content as well as user-friendly vendor directories. We are both so excited to have a great community in Chicago that have supported us every step of the way!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the CHI thee WED story. Tell us more about the business.
If you are wondering “what makes you different from every other wedding blog out there” here is our answer: major blogs, provide beautiful content, but can be hard for couples to navigate and find realistic recommendations and local vendor contacts. They can also feel unapproachable to vendors – you work really hard on every event and to receive no response for a beautiful submission can be disappointing.
We want to change that! We are committed to showcasing a variety of styles, making CHI thee WED a source of inspiration for any type of wedding – rustic, elegant, fun, simple, over-the-top, DIY, and beyond. We want to be a one-stop-shop for all of our couples, focusing on Chicago weddings, planning advice, styled shoots, industry pro guidance, and style inspiration.
CHI thee WED is not made up of one person but several Curators that are all Chicago Wedding Pros! How cool is that!? Our Curator team is made up of different people in the Chicago wedding industry, with different styles that are committed to guiding you through every step of the wedding process!
