Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Fire.
Michelle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Too vague and too much to tell.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are struggles all the time, even after being in business for 31 years. There are always challenges, from the sidewalks being ripped up for improvement to the day to day tenacity, it takes to run a good organization.
Please tell us about Big Chicks Inc and Tweet, let’s eat.
Big Chicks Inc is a woman-owned and operated business for 31 years. We are gay/queer identified but have always been an inclusive friendly place, hence our moniker, men and men and women and women and men and women (and now we’ve added) other. We have been an active community partner, have supported many organizations, showcase an outstanding art collection, have a beautiful interior. Our staff is known for their hospitality and inclusiveness. As a company, I am proud of my employees, my beautiful space, the outstanding work we all do.
Lots of things set us apart from others, from the museum quality artwork hanging to the attention to detail we devote ourselves to. To our participation with many charitable and local partners, all of these things and many more contribute to our uniqueness.
Tweet, let’s eat is the sister restaurant in the same building. We serve lovely, mostly organic breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Tweet is entering its 15th year.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
There is nothing I would change. But, I would love to be 15 years younger right now! Just so, I could do more…
